Two Pennsylvania men were charged Wednesday in the theft from a Locke farm of a liquid that state police believe is anhydrous ammonia, a potentially dangerous fertilizer that also can be used to make illegal drugs.
The men and two women with them also were charged with stealing gasoline from a Locke service station.
Five other Pennsylvania residents have been charged this summer by state police and Cayuga County sheriff's deputies in the theft of anhydrous ammonia. The fertilizer is commonly used as an ingredient for methamphetamine, also known as speed.
