County and Wood Dale officials are keeping their eyes on homes near the Wood Dale/Itasca reservoir after recent tests showed a basement of one home on School Street had levels of carbon dioxide that were barely safe.
Dangerously high levels of the non-toxic gas were detected two years ago in homes on Orchard Lane and School Street in Wood Dale, forcing the evacuation of two different families in four months. The gas levels were significant after the reservoir filled with water from snow melt and spring rain.
