Genaera Corporation (Nasdaq: GENR) today announced the award of up to $1.7 million from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (http://www.cff.org) to develop an innovative new drug, LOMUCIN(TM) that inhibits the excess production of mucus that clogs the small airways in chronic diseases like cystic fibrosis, asthma and COPD. The Therapeutics Development Program Grant will support early clinical evaluation involving patients with cystic fibrosis.
