Peruvian artist Jose Luis de la Barra considers himself a Surrealist, and one look at his work explains why. His paintings are based on dreams and fantasies, and they often feature floating figures with symbolic objects such as butterflies.
"I see expressions and sensual movements as mystic allegories of the universe," he said. "I imagine reality through a subjective lens."
