Detroit Diesel Corp. recently became a part of DaimlerChrysler Powersystems and beefed up its Series 60 engine line, listing seven of the popular engine models this year compared to three last year. "The Series 60 marine engine offers the very best in cost of operation and the durability/reliability that made it famous," a DDC spokesman said.
Mackpower, after appearing for the first time last year, is now part of Volvo Penta. Volvo increased its number of listed engines from 25 in 2000 to 36 this year.
