PHILLIPINES: A Muslim separatist group in the Philippines has beheaded four Filipino Christian hostages abducted Aug. 2 during a village raid.
Police said they believe the Abu Sayyaf -- a group fighting for a separate Muslim nation within the predominantly Roman Catholic Philippines -- had dumped the four beheaded corpses found on southern Basilan island.
Relatives of the victims identified the bodies as among 30 people abducted by the separatists.
Two people escaped from the group, while nine others were released. One was ordered to relay the message that the remaining hostages would die unless the Filipino government stopped its military ...
