NATO's current mandate is due to run out on September 26. According to Macedonian government reports, the plan for its replacement was worked out when Mr Robertson met the President in Skopje on September 14. Mr Trajkovski's advisor said the new mission, would have a "restricted mandate and limited duration", and "will most probably engage some 150-200 solders" from the KFOR Rear Headquarters. KFOR, the NATO-led peace-keeping force in Kosovo, established a rear base and supply lines in Macedonia in 1999, when it was established.The advisor praised the plan, saying it "will have a positive influence" without calling into question the role of the Macedonian military as "the ...
