The unprecedented success of Ron Dayne in his four years at the University of Wisconsin has made it harder for rushing statistics to impress people.
As a result, some of the UW tailbacks to follow Dayne may not get the credit they deserve.
When Michael Bennett was a junior last season, he rushed for 290 yards against Oregon and 293 against Northwestern in successive starts, not playing against Cincinnati in between due to an injury. But that didn't cause much of a rumble because UW fans had seen Dayne rush for 289 and 339 in back-to-back games as a true freshman in 1996.
