NEW figures suggest the rate at which house prices in Wales are increasing is beginning to level off, although it remains well ahead of the annual rate of inflation.
The Principality Building Society said that house prices across Wales rose by 7.2pc in the past 12 months, up from 5.8pc a year ago, but largely unchanged from the 7.1pc figure at the end of the second quarter, suggesting that the rate is starting to hit a plateau.
There is a contrast between the rate of increase between different parts of Wales, with housebuyers in Bangor facing a 4.9pc increase and an average price of pounds 61,131 while in Cardiff prices rose ...
