AN investigation into a botched murder case has uncovered damning evidence of racism among Scottish police officers and prosecution lawyers.
Two reports into the handling of the case of Indian waiter Surjit Singh Chhokar will contain wideranging criticisms of Strathclyde Police and the Crown Office when they are published next month.
It is understood that the reports, now with Justice Minister Jim Wallace, will also criticise the Chhokar family and antiracism campaigner Aamer Anwar, but their accusations of institutional racism in Scotland's police and prosecution service will be largely borne out.
