Authorities on Wednesday were seeking a man who robbed a Vernon Hills bank armed with a note that said he had a bomb.

No bomb was seen and no one was injured in the robbery of First American Bank, located southeast of Milwaukee Avenue and Route 60, according to Vernon Hills police and the FBI.

Around 1:05 p.m., a backpack-toting man walked into the bank and showed a teller a note demanding money, police said. The note also said there was a bomb in his backpack, police said.

The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and, witnesses told police, he ran through the parking lot of the neighboring Olive Garden ...
