Sep. 28--TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--Florida National Guard troops will patrol the state's 19 commercial airports as early as next week to provide additional security and reassure anxious travelers, Gov. Jeb Bush said Thursday.
The governor's decision came shortly after President Bush called on state governors to activate National Guard units to provide "a strong security presence" at every commercial airport during the four to six months it may take to roll out a long-term national plan to better protect airlines from terrorist attacks.
