Sep. 28--Bangkok Airways, the country's largest privately owned airline, has asked the government to grant it the same third-party war-risk insurance coverage that was promised to Thai Airways International.
If the support was not given, Bangkok Airways' daily flight from Samui island to Singapore, using a 70-seat ATR turbo prop, would be grounded from next Monday when all insurers will limit their liability to US$50 million, down from $750 million for the size of aircraft used by Bangkok Airways.
