PROJECT OVERVIEW:
A Thai/Saudi joint venture consisting of the local SUKHOTHAI PETROLEUM and an undisclosed partner recently revived their long-stalled plans, since 1997, to build Thailand's third oil refinery. The new complex to be sited in Songkhla province is expected to require an investment of $1,500,000,000 to complete.
Construction plans call for building a refinery with an installed production capacity of 125,000 barrels per day. In so doing, the joint venture recently awarded a construction contract to an international consortium.
