Jogging out to midfield wearing his uniform No.43 while smiling and waving to the roaring crowd, Penn State's Adam Taliaferro recently led the Nittany Lions out of the tunnel onto the team's home field at Beaver Stadium for the season opener. This was a miracle for those who know Adam, be cause almost a year ago, they were told Adam would never walk again.
Last Sept. 23, Taliaferro, a freshman corner back, broke his neck and bruised his spinal cord while tackling an Ohio State player headfirst at Ohio Stadium. That fateful day began Adam's fight for his life.
Two days later the promising athlete and bright student underwent spinal-fusion surgery. The ...
