All Kaifu needs is a miracle

JAPAN'S new prime minister, Mr Toshiki Kaifu, is a wizard with words. Otherwise he has little magic. His claims to the job are that he comes from a minor faction of the ruling Liberal Democratic party; that he has been an education minister; and that he took only 14m [yen] ($100,000 in current money) in political handouts from the Recruit company, and took that modest sum before the shares-for-favours scandal had erupted.
