WVEA OPPOSES PEIA PREMIUM PROPOSAL
CHARLESTON, W.Va., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- An apparent show game is taking place at the state capitol, according to the West Virginia Education Association (WVEA). "What was thought to be a salary enhancement for school employees is turning out to be an illusory bit of gimmickry," stated Kayetta Meadows, president of the West Virginia Education Association, in response to today's announcement by the Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA) to require monthly premium payments by school and state employees for their health insurance benefits.
