EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- He's listed at 5-foot-10. Make that more like 5-8. Last season, he was listed at 255 pounds. Make that more like 265.
Ron Dayne's height is still the same as when he was a rookie, unless you count the fluff of hair on top that wasn't there last year. But 20 pounds are gone, and on Sunday, the 1999 Heisman Trophy winner and major college's career rushing leader out of the University of Wisconsin finally did what he was supposed to do in the NFL. Dayne rushed for 111 yards on 19 carries that helped the New York Giants to a 21-13 win over New Orleans in their home opener.
