Dutch Harbor fleet decides to give remaining 12 tons of 110-ton quota to Bobby Storrs
Deciding that one altruistic turn deserves another, a small fleet of Dutch Harbor, Alaska, herring fishermen awarded Bobby Storrs the remainder of the year's gillnet quota in recognition of his efforts to pioneer the gillnet fishery back in January.
Storrs convinced the Alaska Board of Fisheries that the new fishery was commercially viable and that he and five others could keep the harvest within the prescribed 110-ton quota.
