Aviance, a British company that supplies baggage handlers and check-in staff to airports, stated on 1 October that it would be laying off 700 employees due to the 11 September terrorist attacks on the USA. The company has accused airlines of a 'panic reaction' and talking themselves into a recession by cutting flights and staff according to The Associated Press.
