Acting Gov. Jane Swift is riding a soaring wave of wartime popularity but still faces serious doubts that the state is prepared to deal with terrorism, according to a new Boston Herald poll.
Swift's steady hand since the Sept. 11 terror attacks that began at Logan International Airport clearly righted her political ship, reversing dismal ratings just a year ago, the Herald poll found.
