MONTEREY, Calif. _ The Naval Postgraduate School is looking for a few good men and women to help wage war on terrorism in cyberspace.
"The U.S. is very vulnerable" to a cyberspace attack, said Dr. Cynthia Irvine, associate professor at the Naval Postgraduate School's computer science department.
Many of the nation's vital systems _ airlines, pipelines, power grids, defense installations _ are dependent on hardware and software that could have "trap doors" planted by adversaries who would use them to gain access and control of these systems, she said.
"We could have catastrophic failures, corruption of information or disruption of information."
