PAWCATUCK, CONN. - New screws, extrusion controls and a laboratory line developed with an Austrian company highlight Davis-Standard Corp.'s K 2001 exhibit (Hall 16, Stand A 43).
Davis-Standard will show two newly patented feed screws, the DSB-V and DSB-VI barrier screws; both of them improve on the DSB-I screw design.
The DSB-V improves melting and output, according to the Pawcatuck company. Features include a variable-pitch barrier flight similar to the DSB-I. The solids channel has been modified to assist melting using the heat energy dissipated from the plastic and to improve the quality of the mix.
