A GOOD night's sleep is a human right, and that's official. This week, the European Court of Human Rights ruled that people living near Heathrow Airport have a right not to be disturbed by the milkman-shift Jumbos roaring in from the Far East.
As my South London house is under the point where the undercarriage is lowered on the approach, I am heartened by this decision. But it begs the question: why do we need a good night's sleep at all?
The answers seem obvious - to rest, recuperate and repair the attrition to mind and body after a long, stressful day.
