As the upland game season stretches into late fall and game begins flushing wilder, it's time to consider plated-lead shot -- the most lethal shot we have for long range gunning results.
Plated with either copper or nickel, lead shot flies truer because it resists deformation. It is very smooth and aerodynamic, and thus maintains pattern density at longer ranges. Because of its hardness, plated shot provides superior penetration through larger birds and mammals. It's just the stuff for late season pheasants and prairie grouse.
