Oct. 3--Contract manufacturer Pemstar Inc. has an agreement to purchase a Chaska factory, its first production plant in the Twin Cities area.
The acquisition is part of a deal to supply electronic assemblies to MTS Systems Corp. of Eden Prairie, which owns the 40,000-square-foot plant.
The purchase also gives Rochester-based Pemstar a base for engineering and production operations in the Twin Cities area, where it already has customers such as 3M, Honeywell Inc. and others, chief financial officer Bill Kullback said this morning.
