BOSTON-Employers will face one more administrative headache in light of a federal appellate court decision that makes it easier for employees to obtain leave to care for their disabled adult children.
The 2-1 decision by the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Gladys Navarro vs. Pfizer Corp. expands the definition of ``disability'' under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act, which means more employees will seek leave under its provisions and could lead to increased litigation against employers in disputed cases, attorneys warn.
