Oct. 6--If you possess any civic pride at all, then you know that one of the great inventions of the 20th century -- the integrated circuit -- was developed in Dallas, and that Texas Instruments engineer Jack Kilby won the Nobel Prize for it.
But what's an integrated circuit again? And how did TI's vacation policy contribute to Mr. Kilby's discovery?
