A DYING Irish priest last night told of the cruel disease that will kill him - and said he understood why sufferers might want to take their own lives.

Fr Aengus Fegan, 74, knew he was facing death the day he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.

But the Capuchin friar has tried hard to live with the dreaded illness which killed the actors David Niven and Cyril Cusack.
