SAN FRANCISCO _ The Carolina Panthers did something extraordinary here Sunday night.
They did a lot of really bad things, too, which is why San Francisco defeated the them 24-14.
But if you want some hope _ and hope doesn't float nearly as well when a team has lost three straight _ think about something other than the final score.
Think about the rarest thing that happened Sunday night. It will be overshadowed when this game is remembered, because it happened in the second quarter.
But it shouldn't be forgotten. It was a 99-yard touchdown drive on the road, one of the hardest tasks to accomplish in all of professional sports.
