Wyeth uses Rx image to market eye drops
PHILADELPHIA--Wyeth-Ayerst Labs firmly believes that pharmacist support is key to selling over-the-counter drugs. To that end, all packaging and advertising strategies for its Collyrium Fresh are stressing that the product is pharmacist-recommended. Collyrium Fresh still controls less than 5% of the $145 million demand for eye drops in the U.S., but sales from 1987 to 1988 have grown by "double-digit proportions," according to Wyeth pediatric and consumer health care division marketing director Rich Minoff.
