Oct. 5--The Blue Diamond Power Project developer said Thursday that a federal agency confirmed the project isn't part of the Red Rock Conservation Area.
The partnership plans to invest $320 million and construct two reservoirs and a power generation plant on Blue Diamond Hill on the western edge of Las Vegas.
The Sierra Club, however, said the project was inside the conservation area, and Attorney Katherine Peck wrote the BLM in May on behalf of the Sierra Club and the Red Rock Audubon Society.
