Employers Look To Cut Health Costs
Most employer-sponsored medical plans are designed to make employees more conscientious consumers of health care services, according to a recent Hewitt Associates survey of 822 major U.S. employers.
The study shows that employers are asking employees to share a portion of health care costs through deductibles, coinsurance, and premium contributions.
In addition, employers have instituted financial incentives designed to encourage employees to obtain health care services in the most cost-efficient way possible, the survey found.
