Cooperative Extension was founded on the premise that education and information should be available to everyone.
"Helping You Put Knowledge to Work" is what the agency has been striving to do in New York state for about 80 years. That is what will be celebrated next week during Cooperative Extension Week.
Also being celebrated Sunday through Oct. 13 is the 4-H, a branch of Cooperative Extension for youth. The national 4-H is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2002.
