As if they had not faced enough formidable obstacles this season, Symbolism rose up Sunday and took a whack out of the Vikings.
There they were with a wide receiver streaking down the middle of the field, hauling in a deep pass and dashing for the end zone. Cris Carter was 3 yards from scoring, 3 yards from a classically Viking game-breaking play.
