WALESA, POLISH AMERICAN CONGRESS ANNOUNCE NEW FINANCING PLAN FOR POLAND; MICHIGAN TREASURER BOWMAN IS FIRST TO PARTICIPATE, COMMITS $10 MILLION

CHICAGO, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Polish American Congress and Lech Walesa, Polish Solidarity leader, jointly announced this morning in Chicago the adoption of the Polish American Congress Bond Financing Program for Poland. At the same time, Robert A. Bowman, treasurer of the State of Michigan, announced a commitment to purchase the first $10 million of Poland's bonds to be issued under the program. Bowman also announced an intention to proceed with venture capital investments in Poland.
