THE two sides of industry clashed yesterday over European Union proposals on worker consultation which business groups said would be "highly damaging".
The CBI and the Engineering Employers' Federation said a decision by the EU's Employment and Social Affairs committee to recommend amendments to a directive on information and consultation could "grind business decisions to a halt".
The proposals, including a move to allow employee representatives to postpone business decisions, will go before the European Parliament later this month.
