Oct. 10--In the latest local aftershock of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, a Boston-area marketer of vacation and cruise packages has slashed nearly half of the jobs at its Virginia Beach reservation call center and office.
National Leisure Group Inc. of Woburn, Mass., whose local operation was founded six years ago as The Vacation Store, laid off about 150 workers last week. About 200 remain, according to the company.
