NEW YORK POWER AUTHORITY CONDUCTS SURVEY ON GREENHOUSE EFFECT'

NEW YORK, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- While 75 percent of the public says it has heard of the "greenhouse effect," just 41 percent connects it correctly with global warming, a New York Power Authority statewide survey of 1,003 adults reveals.

Among 18 to 24 year olds, the group most likely to live long enough to experience the full impact of global warming, the overwhelming majority (68 percent) could not correctly identify the problem, the survey shows. This group includes 27 percent who never heard of it.
