Tom Hanks may have represented the epitome of heroism in ``Saving Private Ryan.'' But he doubts he could have endured the epic hardships of the men depicted in his ambitious HBO miniseries ``Band of Brothers.''

The 10-part docudrama, premiering on the cable network next Sunday, follows Easy Company, an elite rifle corps which, among other things, parachuted into France on D-Day, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and captured Hitler's Eagle's Nest.
