Two weeks ago, while on a short tour through Illinois to Indiana, the Black Eyed Snakes officially became a band - or at least something more than a side project. It was all thanks to the University of Minnesota's student radio station and another avid supporter of the Duluth semi-super trio, drummer Brad Nelson's mom.
"I called her from the road, and she said someone had posted on our Web site that we're No. 2 on Radio K," Nelson recalled. "I told the other guys, and we had one of those `band moments.'
"We really didn't see it coming. You know, we thought, `Not bad, for ...
