In a church filled with the sound of ``The Wind Beneath My Wings'' and an honor guard of firefighters, 4-year-old Marquise McDonald was remembered by his mother during his funeral Tuesday as ``the joy of my life.''

The boy, buried in the clothes of a firefighter he dreamed of becoming, tried to help his mother, Nicole Taylor, when his father allegedly doused her with a flammable liquid and set her on fire in their Granada Hills town house July 10. She suffered burns to her face and neck but Marquise was overwhelmed by the flames and died of his injuries.
