WASHINGTON _U.S. warplanes continued to pound military and terrorist targets in Afghanistan Sunday, as the war against Osama bin Laden and the Taliban regime that shelters him entered its second week.
Pentagon officials declined to identify where U.S. jets struck.
"We're continuing the strikes," said Pentagon spokeswoman Victoria Clarke. "Targets have been and will continue to be military sites and equipment."
The attacks followed round-the-clock bombing raids Saturday on airports near Kabul and Kandahar, plus military positions near the Afghan cities of Jalalabad, Herat and Taloqan. Another Pentagon official, speaking on condition of anonymity, ...
