Motorola's (NYSE: MOT) Global Telecom Solutions Sector (GTSS) announced today that it has been awarded another $34.8 million contract by China United Communications Corporation (China Unicom) to expand the operator's 800 Megahertz Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network in China's Hebei Province.
The signing of the contract ranks Motorola as the No. 1 supplier to China Unicom's nationwide CDMA project. In May 2001, Motorola was awarded $407 million in CDMA contracts with China Unicom in 11 provinces, including the capital of Beijing. The current expansion supplements earlier contracts. With this ...
