This autumn, any television documentary that opens with the "Star-Spangled Banner" being sung at a baseball game might be accused of capitalizing on the current swell of patriotism. But "I'm Sorry I Was Right," airing today at 10:30 p.m. on KTCA-TV, Channel 2, was taped long before Sept. 11. And its subject, former Minnesota senator and presidential candidate Eugene McCarthy, isn't pandering to the flag. He's appealing to the same qualities he always has - a wish for peace, a hunger for reason, and an appreciation for wisdom delivered with wit.
