DHI Mach Company has developed and is manufacturing a new rubber packing material which it describes as exhibiting mild hardness of 10-13 degree, known as the JIS-A type, which is characterised by an adhesivity greater than existing types of packing materials, making it highly suitable as a packing material requiring only low pressure.
Ordinary silicone rubber has a hardness of 30-90 degrees, and with respect to the versatile O-ring is usable at over 5 atmospheres pressure.
