Denise B. of Miami asked if anyone had a crab souffle recipe that was a favorite of former Florida governor Reubin Askew. She had made the souffle for her father, and he recently asked her to make it again. Denise was hoping to make it to surprise her parents on their 49th wedding anniversary.
"I hope this is the recipe needed to have a grand and happy 49th," wrote an anonymous Miami reader. The recipe she sent had been clipped from a circa 1975 newspaper.
I was tempted to add a bit of onion or bell pepper before baking this, but it actually is quite pleasant in its simplicity.
