OraPharma, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPHM), a specialty pharmaceutical company with an initial focus on the emerging field of oral health care, today reported that State concern about periodontal disease is spreading across the country. Illinois is focusing on this treatable disease by issuing a proclamation and declaring October Periodontal Disease Awareness Month (see proclamation below). During October Illinois will seek to educate its residents about how to recognize the signs of periodontal disease and the importance of seeking treatment from a dental professional.
