WASHINGTON, Oct 16, 2001
With confirmation a letter sent to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle was laced with anthrax, law enforcement and health officials Tuesday redoubled efforts to trace the source of the pathogen found in New York, Florida and on Capitol Hill. Four people have been infected -- two in New York and two in Florida -- where the head of American Media Inc. in Boca Raton said the company would never return to the building where the pathogen was first identified. A second employee at American Media diagnosed with exposure to anthrax has now contracted the infection, doctors said.
