TONY BLAIR has rightly praise our Armed Forces as the best in the world, but his actions leave much to be desired.
My son joined the Army in September 2000, aged 16. At 17, he should have had a [pound]5a-day pay rise. He has been trying to get this payment since March, but is continually told there's a 'glitch on the payroll system'.
He is owed more than [pound]900 in back pay and has now resigned himself to the idea that someone will eventually tell him and the many other soldiers affected: 'Sorry, but hard luck; we can't afford to pay you.' Strangely, when a 'glitch' worked the other way, and my son was wrongly overpaid one month, the very next month ...
